Secrets of Vancouver: The Cambie & King Edward Climbing Tree

Part of my mission is finding unique discoveries. So, behold, the Climbing Tree at Cambie and King Edward in Vancouver.

I found out about this place because I live close to the area. Some people like to take dates there or just go there with someone new to the city.

It’s super charming and such a #vancouverisawesome experience. You can’t get more Vancouver than climbing a massive tree to get a view of the mountains lol.

This Tree is a popular hangout place for locals but can also be a bit sketchy late at night. Basically, in the summer some people come here to drink, smoke and do drugs.

But during the day it’s a great spot for a dose of mini adventure. You can climb all the way to the top and get a great view of North Vancouver as well as the downtown city!

As of the end of 2017, the Tree featured a bunch of extra “features” put there by enthusiastic locals. When I visited, the Tree had a tire swing, a bench, and 2 net hammocks and varying distances up the tree trunk.

I didn’t climb all the way to the top because it was raining the day before and the branches were still a bit slick, but I definitely plan on doing it soon, to get some shots of the supposedly gorgeous view.
